Watch Barber's swearing-in ceremony streaming live this morning

TUCSON - Representative-Elect Ron Barber will be sworn into his seat in Congress in Washington, D.C. today - News 4 Tucson will live-stream the event on KVOA.com.

Barber will be sworn in between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tucson time. After Barber takes the official oath of office, there will be a ceremonial swearing-in administered by House Speaker John Boehner in the Speaker's Ceremonial Office.

"I am very much looking forward to being able to carry the concerns of the people of Southern Arizona directly to the halls of Congress," Barber said today. "I deeply appreciate the trust that the voters of Arizona have placed in me and I will never forget that this seat that I will hold beginning today is not my seat, but the people's seat."

Barber was elected to represent Congressional District 8 earlier this month, winning by about six percentage points over Republican Jesse Kelly. Green party candidate Charlie Manolakis received about two percent of the vote.
