TUCSON - Nearly four months after a mans body was found in a local wash, police located their murder suspect in the Pima County Jail.
36-year old Shane Blevins was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges in connection with the death of Owen Mcnutt. Mcnutt was found dead November 22, in the wash near Riverside Drive and West Saint Mary's Road.
Police say Mcnutt and Blevins were homeless and lived in the area of the incident. Investigators say Blevins and another suspect lured Mcnutt into the wash where he was assaulted and robbed of his personal belongings. During the course of the robbery, Mcnutt was killed. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.
Blevins was being held on unrelated charges in the Pima County Jail. Detectives added 1 count of 1st Degree Murder, 1 count of Felony Murder 1st degree, 1 count of Armed Robbery and 1 count of Aggravated Robbery to his current charges.
Police are searching for the second suspect in this incident, but haven't named the man.
