TUCSON - A cold weather system is heading our for some big changes to Southern Arizona weather.
A forecast high of 69 for Tucson this afternoon is still above average for this time of year but a cold front moving through this evening will change that. As the front moves through expect the winds to kick up this afternoon and the cool air to settle in late tonight.
By Monday morning, lows will reach the mid 30s in the Tucson metro with many areas to the east well below the freezing mark. Highs on Monday will be in the low 60s for Tucson and 50s for Cochise County, below average for the first time in nearly a month.
Even cooler overnight lows expected Monday night into Tuesday with a widespread freeze possible for Southern Arizona. Tucson could see the first freeze of the year during this time frame.
