TUCSON - Approximately 13,000 vote-by-mail ballots have been dropped off late at the polling locations and delivered by U.S. mail. These ballots are being signature verified this morning and will be transferred over to the Division of Elections for counting.
Pima County Recorder F. Ann Rodriguez said, "This verification process will be completed by mid afternoon today."
In addition, the Recorder's office also received approximately 3,550 provisional ballots that it will begin processing after completing verification of the late vote-by-mail ballots. Provisional Ballots are problem ballots that poll workers issue to voters that must be checked further. The Recorder's office anticipates completing the Provisional Ballot process no later than Saturday morning.
