TUCSON - A suspect who robbed a southside Circle K was finally caught after a chase involving spike strips and the Pima County Sheriff's Department's air unit, PCSD's spokesman Tom Peine said.
The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Julio Martinez, held up a clerk and stole money, alcohol and cigarettes before getting away in a white Pontiac Sunfire, Peine said.
Deputies eventually found Martinez and attempted a stop but the driver sped off, Peine added.
After running over road spikes, the suspect fled from the car on foot and was eventually arrested.
Peine said deputies found the items stolen from the Circle K in the suspect's car. Martinez was charged with armed robbery, unlawful flight from law enforcement and posession of marijuana.
