TUCSON - The victim of Wednesday's fatal hit and run collision has been identified by Tucson Police was reported as a missing juvenile.
Ricardo Manriquez, 16, has been confirmed as the pedestrian killed when the vehicle driven by 18-year-old Daniel J. Amado lost control and struck him.
Amado was picked up by a 17-year-old, identified by police as the driver of the getaway vehicle that was allegedly drag racing with Amado when the collision occurred.
Manriquez had been reported as a runaway juvenile by family members, who reported last seeing him at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday at his home at the 2000 block of East Dakota St.. The fatal accident occurred at about 2:40 p.m. Near the intersection of Campbell and Minorka.
Amado has been charged with one count of leaving the Scene of an Accident with Death or Personal Injury and booked into the Pima County Jail.
The 17-year-old has been charged with one count each of Facilitation, and Hindering Prosecution, both felonies. He has been released to a parent.
