Veterans Day dream come true for a handful of airmen and their families

TUCSON-Veterans Day happens to also be homecoming day for a few airmen in Southern Arizona.

A handful of them arrived at the Tucson International Airport Sunday.

It was a happy Veterans Day for families receiving loved ones returning home from serving oversees.

The Riedel family hasn't seen their loved one in six months.

Veterans with the Patriot Guard Riders stood by their side.

"We're here for Veterans and Veterans families," said BJ Tompkins with the Patriot Guard Riders.

They lined up with flags to welcome the airmen.

Brianna Riedel hasn't seen her husband Matthew in six months.

They already have two boys together and another on the way.

It will be the first time Matthew sees her baby bump.

"I just can't wait it's been a long several months," said Brianna.

Brianna embraced Matthew as he arrived teary eyed.

"It was nice to see the freedom riders came out and a lot of my family came from Phoenix so it was a good surprise," said Matthew.

It was a Veterans Day dream come true for Matthew and his fellow airmen.
