Vasquez brothers sentenced to life in Tucson teen's 2009 murder

TUCSON - Brothers Christian and Orel Vasquez are each sentenced to natural life in prison plus 189 years in the 2009 murder of Sunnyside High School student, Brenda Arenas.
Arenas was shot during an attempted car jacking after a botched home invasion. The 15-year-old was in a car with her mother, sister and boyfriend, all of whom lived. It happened the night before the first day of her sophomore year of high school.
The judge says each brother was sentenced to natural life plus 189 years to be served consecutively.
