SACATON (AP) - A van carrying Arizona Department of Corrections officers rolled over after the driver lost control when a tire blew out on Interstate south of Phoenix, injuring at least one of the officers.
The accident forced closures and restrictions of lanes in both directions of the freeway near the Gila River bridge for parts of Friday morning. The interstate is now open.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves said the van was carrying nine officers to the Phoenix area from a prison complex in Florence where the officers had worked overnight.
Graves said the most serious injury was one of the officers suffered a broken leg.
