Ajo, Ariz. - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Ajo Station seized a load of marijuana early Wednesday with an estimated street value of $1.5 million.

U.S. Border Patrol officials say agents detected tracks along the International Boundary fence consistent with a vehicle circumventing the fence by ramping. Using night vision technology, agents located the suspect vehicle.

All occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to the Border Patrol's arrival, but left a stash of marijuana concealed in the vehicle. The marijuana and the vehicle were seized and transported to the Ajo Station for processing. U.S. Border Patrol says 1,869 pounds of marijuana was recovered from the vehicle.
