US blaming Iran for Persian Gulf cyberattacks

WASHINGTON (AP) - Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says recent cyberattacks against oil and gas companies in the Persian Gulf were probably the most destructive cyberattacks the private sector has seen.
A former U.S. government official says American authorities believe that Iranian hackers are responsible.
