UPDATE: Missing elderly man returns home

UPDATE: Satterfield returned to his residence on the morning of April 24, 2013. Just before 10:00 a.m. on April 24, 2013, Mrs. Satterfield called 911 to report that her husband had found his way home in their vehicle. He was in good condition and not in need of further assistance. Thanks to all who assisted with trying to locate Mr. Satterfield.


TUCSON - Tucson police are searching for an 85-year-old man diagnosed with dementia, last seen Tuesday evening.

John Satterfield's wife reported him missing after he left their home on the 7500 block of East Speedway Boulevard around 6:45 p.m.

Police say Satterfield is white with short, gray hair and brown eyes. He's about 6 feet tall and weighs around 200 pounds. Satterfield was last seen wearing a brown, short-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. He also wears glasses.

Satterfield left home in a green 1999 Dodge Caravan with the Arizona license plate 258JVZ. A star-shaped sticker is on the rear window.

Police did not find Satterfield while searching several locations he reportedly frequents, including Davis Monthan Air Force Base.

Police believe Satterfield left home with his wallet, giving him access to money. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call 911.
