PHOENIX - Arizona colleges and universities could conduct research into medical marijuana under a bill advancing in the Legislature.
A 2012 state law bans medical marijuana on higher education campuses, but the bill endorsed Wednesday by a Senate committee would change that to permit research.
And a University of Arizona researcher would be a beneficiary of the new legislation if it becomes law. Assistant Professor Sue Sisley is researching whether medical marijuana helps veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.
