TUCSON - Four days after having triple bypass surgery, UA baseball coach Andy Lopez was released from a hospital Friday.
"Finally home and it feels great," tweeted Lopez, "Can't rush the process but looking forward to being out on the field again! Thanks for the prayers/support."
The 59-year-old will return to coaching once he is cleared by doctors.
After leading the Wildcats to victory in the 2012 national championship, he holds a 437-267-1 record in the 12 seasons at the school.
