TUCSON - With support from dozens in the house and senate, U.S. Representative Ron Barber is leading the charge to keep A10s at Davis Monthan Air Force Base.
You don't have to look far to find support of the A10. It's the main aircraft stationed at DM and as Congressman Ron Barber calls it, "a combat-proven workhorse."
News 4 Tucson's Allison Alexander spoke with the Congressman by phone Wednesday about his proposal to the secretary of Defense, regarding the importance of A10s.
Barber says if sequestration weren't an issue, we wouldn't even be discussing the removal of A10s. Barber's proposal included signatures from members of the house and senate, both republicans and democrats.
As a result, he believes the proposal will get the attention it deserves. However, he says, they've only just begun the fight.
