NOGALES - A vacant hotel on the Mexican side of the border was nearly completely destroyed when a fire broke out yesterday afternoon - several U.S. fire crews rushed over to help extinguish the blaze.
At about 4 p.m. yesterday, fire broke out at the Hotel San Enrique in Nogales, Sonora, directly across the street from the pedestrian port of entry, according to Nogales Fire Department officials.
The Nogales Fire Department on the U.S. side provided water and a ladder truck, and the Tubac Fire Department arrived with air tanks.
No one was hurt and the fire was under control by about 5 p.m., but the hotel was almost completely destroyed, officials said.
