Two suspects behind bars in a series of Rita Ranch burglaries

TUCSON - TPD arrested two men in a string of burglaries in the Rita Ranch area.

Detectives arrested 39-year-old Jose Piña and 35-year-old Juan Ortega for their involvment.

In each incident, the suspects forced entry during the daytime when no one was home.

During their investigation, detectives found that Piña pawned property from two of the burglaries.

On Oct. 23, detectives served a search warrant at Piña's home in the 10100 block of East Desert Gorge Drive.

Detectives found additional property from the burglaries.

Piña was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail for 2 counts of 2nd Degree Burglary, 2
counts of Trafficking in Stolen Property and 2 counts of Felony Theft.

Further investigation led detectives to an apartment in the 6200 block of East Pima Street.

On October 24th, a search warrant was served and more property belonging to the victims was discovered.

The resident, Juan Ortega was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail for 2 counts of 2nd Degree Burglary and 2 counts of Felony Theft.
