TUCSON - The president and vice president of Pima Community College's downtown campus have been fired after an investigation into complaints of harassment by student veterans and other problems.
Luba Chliwniak and Jerry Haynes were terminated Friday after an investigation of complaints about campus leadership, Pima Community College spokesman CJ Karamargin said.
Student veterans said they were recently interviewed by a Phoenix-area attorney hired by the college to look into the problems. The lawyer questioned them about the executives' job performance, Karamargin said.
Chancellor Lee Lambert sent an email to campus employees Tuesday announcing a "leadership transition." He said the investigation is ongoing and also is looking at other issues.
