TUCSON - Tucson Police responded to reports of shots fired at Motel 6 on East Benson Highway Sunday afternoon.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that two victims, a man and a woman, were suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency crews at the scene determined that the man was suffering from life threatening injuries.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital.
An initial investigation by police at the scene indicates that two groups were involved in an altercation in the hotel parking lot.
Evidence also suggests a car might have collided with a wall at the hotel.
There were also indications that at least one of the persons possibly involved in the incident had gang affiliations.
As a result, detectives from the Gang Investigations Unit responded to continue the investigation.
Anyone having information about the incident is urged to call 911 or 88-Crime.
