Two people detained in shooting at Freedom Park

TUCSON - Two people have been detained in connection with a shooting at Freedom Park Sunday afternoon.

Tucson Police responded to multiple reports of shots heard in the park just before 1pm.
Officers found a man with gunshot wound. He died at the park.

Witnesses gave several descriptions of possible suspect vehicles.

Officers found a matching vehicle in the area and detained two people.

According to Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department, the vehicle was at the park at the time of the shooting.

One of the people involved in this incident had previous documented gang affiliations.
Gang Detectives are on scene examining evidence and speaking with witnesses.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
