BENSON - Two men have admitted involvement in the murder of a Benson woman and the subsequent hiding of her body in an underground utility vault.

Jared Larson, 22, and Robert Sappington, 34, were arrested Saturday night after the remains of a woman believed to be 31-year-old Devvra Keyes, who was reported missing last September. Both men have been charged with first-degree murder, abandonment and concealment of a body and conspiracy, according to Benson Police Department Chief Moncada.

Benson Police investigations developed information that led them to a manhole located near Ocotillo Road and Lions Park and recovered a badly-decomposed female body there, believe to be that of Keyes. DNA samples have been sent to a lab in Tucson to confirm this.

Keyes' mother, Debra, told police last year that her daughter associated with "less than desirable characters who were likely in the drug trade, and dangerous."

According to Chief Moncada, Larson and Sappington have admitted to their involvement in this case. All three knew each other and lived in the general Benson area.
