TUCSON - Two separate fires kept Tucson firefighters busy Wednesday afternoon.
The first fire happened about 2:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of East Virginia. Tucson Fire tells News 4 crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the cooler on the roof. They noticed flames from inside the house as well and forced open the front door. They entered the house to check for any occupants, but determined no one was home at the time. Another crew made their way to the roof to take care of the flames from the cooler.
The second fire happened about 20 minutes later in the 6400 block of East Colgate. A nearby resident called 911 to report a house on fire. Crews arrived and found smoke coming from the home, but determined no one was home. Fire crews determined the fire started in an electrical panel on the rear of the house. Firefighters inside the home pulled down drywall in a bedroom closet to make sure the fire had not made its way into the attic.
