TUCSON - After a dry period of weather, Mother Nature finally lowered the mercury and gave Southern Arizona some much needed rain Monday afternoon.
Numerous storms fired-up today and many were good soakers.
Here are some of big winners in the rain department:
Mt. Lemmon on Catalina Highway - 1.93"
Pima County Fairgrounds - 1.22"
Santa Cruz River & Valencia - 0.94"
Michigan & Calgary -0.75"
Rillito & Dodge -0.63"
Most of the rain has shut down for the evening and isolated storms can be expected to develop through the next few days.
All attention turns to the weekend as tropical moisture surges into the area.
This could lead to much more widespread and heavy rain.
