TUCSON - Marie Osmond was the inspiration for this week's "Biggest Loser."
Polly Kimminau uses Nutrisystem, a packaged meal diet, endorsed by the singer. She has lost 45 pounds and hopes to lose 75 pounds total.
Kimminau said, "I was the type of person that went to a gym joined a gym, paid all the money and never went."
Last September, Kimminau had to go to a funeral and as she looked through her closet she became discouraged.
"I went through everything I owned and nothing fit the way I wanted it to and it was very upsetting," she said.
Kimminau combined exercise and the nutrisystem diet. "For me it was perfect at the time because I needed something where they told me what to eat. I had been on too many diets where I got to make too many decisions and I had to be strict about this if I wanted to succeed this time," said Kimminau.
With her friend Melinda, the two started hitting the treadmills at the YMCA.
"That's been probably the biggest part of coming and staying motivated. Knowing someone is here waiting for me," Kimminau said.
She also used a program on her Ipod called Podrunner. The program trained her to run a 5K in 9 weeks.
Even with all that she has accomplished, Kimminau says she still has fears of gaining the weight back. But she does feel confident if she maintains her workout routine she can keep it off.
"It's just such an exciting time in my life right now. I feel good, it's probably honestly the happiest time of my life," said Kimminau.
