Home Plate on East 22nd Street was battling a dead roache problem last week. Tracking powder was also discovered on the floor, and that's not allowed in an eating establishment.
But this week is a different story. According to the Pima County Health Department report, the tracking powder was cleaned up and a pest control agency was brought in to take care of the roaches. The staff is washing their hands properly and all food items are properly date-marked.
Home Plate passed its re-inspection.
Some good news for Sushi Ten. Two weeks they were riddled with violations, a whopping 12-critical violations. The health department returned to find proper employee hand-washing techniques, no food separation violations, utensils were clean to the sight and touch, and a consumer advisory was provided.
A lot of work, but Sushi Ten took care of all violations and passed their re-inspection.
Cielo's Lodge in the Desert on North Alvernon Way received four critical and four non-critical violations.
Sausage links were held at 115-degrees when they should have been at 130-degrees. A container of liquid eggs in an ice bath read 52-degrees. The eggs weren't in contact with ice and should've be at least ten degrees colder. Chemicals were stored above clean dishes, and other chemical bottles were not labeled.
Cielo's Lodge in the Desert gets a *G* for Good.
The best of the week belongs to: Tiny's Saloon and Steakhouse on West Ajo Way, Rice Garden on North Oracle Road, and Dragon View Asian Cuisine on North Bonita Avenue - all getting an *E* for Excellent.
