The other two men then went behind the counter and started taking cigarette cartons from the display case.
A customer who was in the store at the time tried to intervene and assist the clerk. However, he was also assaulted. Ultimately, the group of men left the area and police never found them.
The suspect that initially began assaulting the clerk was described as an 18 to 22 year old Hispanic male, 5'06" to 5'08" tall, weighing 160 to 180 pounds. He was described as having a goatee, carrying a black backpack, and wearing a white t-shirt, an Oakland A's baseball hat, blue jeans and black shoes.
The second suspect was described as an 18 to 22 year old Hispanic male, 5'02" to 5'06" tall, weighing 140 to 160 pounds. He was also described as having a goatee and wearing a gray shirt, long black shorts and black shoes.
Lastly, the third suspect was described as an 18 to 22 year old Caucasian male, 6'01" tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds. He also had a goatee and was wearing a black t-shirt, blue shorts and black and white shoes.
