Tucson Police investigate deadly south side shooting

TUCSON - Police are looking for suspects, after a man was shot and killed in a parking lot on Tucson's south side.

Sgt. Pete Dugan says several people called 9-1-1 just before 10:00 p.m. Saturday, to report shots fired in the Food City parking lot at South Campbell Avenue and East Irvington Road.

Dugan says the victim was taken to a hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.

Detectives worked into Sunday morning, reviewing surveillance video, and interviewing people who may have been inside the store at the time of the shooting. Investigators from the Tucson Police Gang Unit also responded, though Dugan says it's not clear if the killing was gang-related. Dugan adds, the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.

Investigators are looking for a gray or silver Dodge Magnum that left the scene after the shots were fired.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 9-1-1 or 8-8-Crime.
