TUCSON - This January is measuring up to some of the warmest ever recorded in Tucson.
So far 17 of the 26 days in January have been spent in the 70s with the warmest temp coming in at 79°. These unseasonably warm daytime highs have us on pace for the third warmest January on record dating back to 1895. The only warmer months of January came in 2003 and 1986.
With the exception of some cloud cover moving in to start Monday we will see little day to day change for the work week ahead. The forecast will be made up of mornings in the 40s and afternoons in the 70s.
This persistent ridge of high pressure shows some signs of breaking down heading into next weekend. It looks like we will get our first taste of some slightly cooler air as we make our way into the start of February.
