TUCSON - Tucson's Meet Yourself is here and it is covering over 60 acres of downtown Tucson!
This year's Meet Yourself theme is "Live your story, share your world." There will be 45 ethnic groups and over 300 varieties of music, dance, food, art and presentations of tradition style.
The Southwest's largest festival will be from October 12 to October 14, which includes new themes and events. This year, the National Endowment for the arts provided funds for the festival, as it was designated as the state of Arizona's official "folk arts agency."
This year the folk life festival has many events to offer over the three day gathering, such as:
• 25th Anniversary AIDS Walk
• Symbols and Traditions of AIDS Activism
• Quilts Making a Difference
• Lowrider Car Club "Dukes" 50th Anniversary
• Lowrider Car Club Show and Contest
• Kidlore: The Culture of Kids
• Pow Wow 101
• Traditions of Caribbean Music and Ritual
Festival Hours this year will be:
Friday, October 12 11am-10pm
Saturday, October 13 10am-10pm
Sunday, October 14 11am-6pm
