Tucson man suspected of downloading and sharing child porn

TUCSON - Police made an arrest of a man they believe was downloading and sharing child pornography on the internet.

In April of 2014, the Tucson Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit developed information that this was happening in the residence in the 600 block of North Loquat Avenue. On July 23, 2014, a search warrant was served with the help of U.S. Marshals. Detective found evidence that 39-year-old Jonathan Patton was downloading and sharing of child pornography.

Patton was located and booked into the Pima County Jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Tucson Police Department reminds people to ensure their internet routers for their Wifi connections are secure. Unsecure wireless connections can be used by neighbors or people in close proximity to your router. They also urge parents to continually monitor all of their children's Social Media Accounts to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, or any others they may utilize. Knowing and monitoring your child's online friends, connections and conversations is crucial for their safety.
