TUCSON - A man who pleaded guilty to killing a teen back in 2009 was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday.
Anibal Cordova, 24, fled to Mexico after a fatal 2009 shooting at a bus stop has been returned to Tucson to face a first-degree murder charge.
Police say Cordova was tracked to Hermosillo by the U.S. Marshals Service. He was detained by Mexican police and returned to Tucson on Sunday.
Police say Cordova was sitting at a bus stop on April 8, 2009, when 18-year-old Alexis Nunez confronted him. They say people they believed to be friends of Cordova came to his defense, but Cordova eventually opened fire.
