Tucson man sentenced for having child porn

TUCSON - A Tucson man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for possessing child pornography.

John Alton Frost, 58, was sentenced on Wednesday. Last November he pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

Once Frost is out of federal prison, he'll be on lifetime supervised release, with strict sex offender conditions, including the requirement that he register as a sex offender.

According to the plea agreement, Frost downloaded images of child pornography from the internet and stored them on his laptop and external hard drive.

He had at least 155,827 pictures and more than 320 videos of child porn.

This particular case was the result of a Department of Justice program known as Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
