FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man has been indicted in connection with a shooting and car chase that began in Pima County and ended in Pinal County.
A Pinal County grand jury returned an eight-count indictment against 29-year-old Augustine Hector Bernal.
He's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, drive-by shooting, endangerment, possession of marijuana for sale, transportation and importation of marijuana, criminal damage and misconduct involving weapons.
According to the indictment, Bernal shot at the victim in Tucson on Aug. 8 and then pursued her on Interstate 10.
The incident ended near Picacho in Pinal County and Bernal was arrested by state Department of Public Safety officers.
Bernal is being held on $500,000 bond at the Pinal County Adult Detention facility. It wasn't immediately clear Tuesday whether he has a lawyer.
