TUCSON - A Tucson man was sentenced Monday after after entering a plea agreement for the June 2011 kidnapping and murder of a 61-year-old man.
Jonathan Baumbach was facing a potential death sentence. On Monday, the 28-year-old was sentenced to 22 years on the second-degree murder charge and an additional 9 years on the kidnapping charge.
Baumbach pled guilty in December. He told authorities that he blindfolded Robert Pardee, hit him in the head with a hammer and slit his throat.
Baumbach was arrested in Washington state after being found sleeping in the back of Pardee's stolen truck.
