TUCSON - The man who pleaded guilty last year to charges stemming from an attempted abduction of a young girl in 2010 has been given three consecutive 10-year sentences, to add to the seven he was given last year, totaling 100 years in prison.
Steve McPherson pleaded guilty in December 2011 to Sexual Conduct with a Minor in the 2nd Degree, Aggravated Assault in the 2nd Degree of a Person Under 15, and Kidnapping in the 2nd Degree of a Minor Under 15. Today, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for each of these charges, to run consecutively.
McPherson was previously found guilty and sentenced to seven counts of Exploitation of a Minor after police found child pornography at his home. He was sentenced to seven 10-year sentences, to run consecutively, for each of those charges.
Police found and arrested McPherson after he allegedly dragged a girl into his van near 14th Ave. and Miracle Mile on February 11, 2010.
She was found about 15 minutes later at Joaquin Murrieta Park, and thanks to witnesses who were able to report a partial license plate, McPherson was detained at his home, just blocks from the park.
