Tucson high-tech company CEO sentenced in DUI case

TUCSON - The chief executive officer of a Tucson high-tech company convicted of felony DUI charges has been sentenced to 4½ years in prison.

Pima County prosecutors say John M. Bourque was sentenced Friday.

He was found guilty by a jury last month of aggravated driving under the influence with a revoked or suspended license and aggravated DUI with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent or more.

Bourque is CEO of armor-plate maker Bourque Industries Inc.

He was arrested in the DUI case in September 2009.

Following the conviction, Bourque Industries announced an interim CEO to replace Bourque.

The company says Bourque intends to appeal.

Bourque was a repeat offender as he spent more than three years in state prison for aggravated DUI in 2002.
