TUCSON - When summer hits Tucson many people leave for cooler climates. However, with the price of airfare and summer hotel rates soaring with the temperatures a "staycation" may be in order.
Dozens of attractions across the region are perfect for family visits. To encourage those staying for the summer to take advantage of all Tucson has to offer the Southern Arizona Attractions Alliance has created a book of coupons with big savings at the attractions.
It's called the Tucson Attractions Passport. Most of the discounts are two for one admission. In total the $18 book offers about $400 in savings.
"You can almost make your money back just by going to one attraction, so if you go to two you've saved money," said Marcia Ring with the Southern Arizona Attraction Alliance.
It has just about every attraction covered including Biosphere 2 Center, Reid Park Zoo, Tohono Chul Park, Tucson Children's Museum and many more.
