Tucson 8-year-old desperately needs a new heart

TUCSON - 8-year-old Trinity Poire has already had three heart surgeries in her lifetime. With only one working lung now, doctors say, it's time to get her on the heart transplant list.

Trinity's mom tells Kristi's Kids, the best place for her to get assessed, and to get her transplant, is Columbia University in New York City. The family has already lost their home, because of mounting medical bills, so they're desperate to raise money.

The upcoming trips, and stays, in NYC will be very expensive. In addition to airplane tickets, the family will need lodging. Trinity's mom says, they can't stay at the Ronald McDonald house in New York City, and they can't ride the subway.
