Truck slams into pawn shop overnight, thief runs off

TUCSON - A midtown pawn shop near Grant & Country Club, was broken into shortly after 2 am last night after a truck slammed through the front of the building.

Store employees with E-Z Money Pawn, tell News 4 Tucson that the alleged thief drove a car straight into the store.

Tucson Police Sgt. Chris Widmer said that a grey dodge truck was found abandoned just south of the business and it appeared to be stolen.

Damages are not known at this time, and workers are now doing an inventory to determine what was taken from the store.

Widmer said surveillance video could help authorities identify a suspect but there is currently no description.

Neighbors tell News 4 Tucson that this isn't the first time the pawn shop was hit by criminals. We're working those details for later newscasts.

If you have any information regarding this incident you're encouraged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
