TUCSON - Significant warm up begins this afternoon.
The system that kept temperatures about ten degrees below average over the last couple of days is moving out of the region and warmer temperatures are moving in. Tucson will top out near 90 degrees this afternoon under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.
We may have enough leftover moisture for a few mountain thunderstorms to fire up in the higher elevations northeast of Tucson.
The drying and warming trend will continue into the Memorial Day holiday with highs topping out near 96 degrees under generally sunny skies. High pressure will drive temperatures into the triple digits by midweek.
An increase of moisture from the tropics on Thursday and Friday may bring another round of mainly mountain showers and storms. Stay up to date with your True View 4 forecast here.
