TUCSON - The proverbial ice may be breaking on the Santa Cruz very soon.
High pressure over the western US drives temperatures above average to wrap up the week, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Under sunny skies, expect mid 90's in Tucson this afternoon with upper 90's by tomorrow.
Winds the next few days will be much lighter, peaking around 10-15 MPH.
Odds are increasing that Tucson sees its first 100° day of the year on Saturday. This would be earlier than the average first 100° day occurrence, which historically comes around May 27th. Breezes and slightly cooler temps return next week as a storm system passes north of the state.
