TUCSON - A slow return for Monsoon storms over the weekend.
High pressure over central Texas is gradually returning Monsoon moisture to southern Arizona, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Enough of this moisture sneaks into Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties today, leading to a chance of isolated storms. Tucson and west will see partly cloudy skies and highs in the 100's.
With a low severe weather threat, today's Monsoon Prediction Index is at a 2 out of 10.
High pressure makes its way toward the Four Corners the next several days. As a result, Isolated storms return to all of southern Arizona Saturday through the middle of next week. While storms won't be widespread, the best shot of seeing thunder will be Sunday and Wednesday.
Daytime highs stay in the upper 90's to 100's over the next 7 days.
