TUCSON - Northwest Fire crews rescued a driver who rolled over into a ditch on the westside Wednesday.
The single-vehicle crash happened in the 2900 block of North Lloyd Bush Drive. That's near Ironwood Hills and Camino De Oeste. The woman, about 50 years old, was the only driver in the SUV.
The rollover trapped the woman as a result, Northwest Fire Cpt. Adam Goldberg said.
Rescuers worked to remove her from the vehicle. A helipcopter was dispatched to the scene and the jaws of life were used to get her out, Goldberg said.
Crews were able to extricate the driver within 33 minutes, Goldberg said. She was moved via ambulance to University of Arizona Medical Center where she's being treated for possible life-threatening injuries. Investigators didn't immediately know if the woman was wearing her seat belt.
