YUMA, Ariz. (AP) - More than two dozen cars on a Union Pacific train derailed in the Dateland area of southwestern Arizona.
Union Pacific Railroad spokesman Zoe Richmond says 28 container cars went off the tracks sometime after 7 p.m. Thursday night.
The train was being operated by a two-person crew and there were no injuries as a result of the derailment.
As of late Thursday night, both of the two tracks in the area about 50 miles east of Yuma were blocked.
Richmond says it will take time to get the line working again. She says will need to wait until daylight to see the extent of the damage.
It was not known if weather conditions contributed to the accident.
