TRAFFIC ALERT: Eastbound I-10 will be closed part of the weekend

TUCSON - A traffic alert for anyone planning to use I-10 this weekend: eastbound I-10 will be closed for about twelve hours beginning Saturday night.

Here's the information from ADOT:

The Arizona Department of Transportation will be closing all lanes and ramps on eastbound I-10 from Ruthrauff Road to Miracle Mile beginning 8 p.m. Saturday, March 22, to 8 a.m. Sunday, March 23, to install sign structures and install metal artwork. The work is part of the I-10 widening project between Ruthrauff and Prince roads.

All eastbound I-10 traffic will be detoured to the Ruthrauff Road exit ramp, frontage road and back onto I-10 at the Miracle Mile entrance ramp.

Ruthrauff Road closed at I-10:

• The eastbound I-10 entrance ramp at Ruthrauff Road will be closed.
• Ruthrauff Road will be reduced to one lane on the eastside of I-10. Traffic will be detoured to the westbound I-10 frontage road, to Sunset Road, to the eastbound I-10 frontage road.
• Ruthraff Road will be reduced to one lane on the west side of I-10. Traffic will be detoured to the eastbound I-10 frontage road, to Grant Road, to the westbound I-10 frontage road.

Prince Road closed at I-10:
• The eastbound I-10 entrance and exit ramps at Prince Road will be closed.
• Prince Road will be reduced to one lane on the east side of I-10. Traffic will be detoured to the westbound I-10 frontage road, to Sunset Road, to the eastbound I-10 frontage road.
• Prince Road will be reduced to one lane on the west side of I-10. Traffic will be detoured to the eastbound I-10 frontage road, to Grant Road, to the westbound I-10 frontage road.

Miracle Mile closed at I-10:
• The eastbound I-10 exit ramp at Miracle Mile will be closed.
• Miracle Mile will be reduced to one lane on the east side of I-10. Traffic will be detoured to the westbound I-10 frontage road, to Sunset Road, to the eastbound I-10 frontage road.

The Arizona Department of Transportation's $76.4 million I-10 widening project reached a milestone on Monday, March 10 when the westbound I-10 entrance and exit ramps were opened and the traffic signal at the Prince Road traffic interchange became fully operational.

The eastbound I-10 entrance ramp remains closed for another month so that crews can complete landscaping, electrical and barrier installation.
