TPD Officer shoots and kills assault suspect

TUCSON - A shooting near the southside of town resulting in the death of an assault suspect.
Officers responded to a 911 call in a neighborhood near South Tucson Boulevard and East Broadway around midnight.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with Tucson Police Department says, two men who were attacked with an unknown object, possibly a baseball bat, were treated for non-life threatning injuries
According to Widmer, the suspect was found in the backyard of a residence and began approaching the officer with the unknown object in an aggressive manner. The officer shot and killed the suspect.
