TUCSON - A Tucson woman gets a wild and scary ride after Toyota Sienna takes off on her without even touching the gas.

Her van is not on the recall list but she said it was the same problem everyone's been complaining about.

Heather Donahue said she had just picked her kids up from day care one day when it all happened. She said she went to pull forward to get out of another cars way when the car just jolted forward.

That was the beginning of a short but scary ride for Donahue and her two kids. She said, "I had both of my kids in the car and my daughter was screaming and my son I could just hear him being thrown around. I was just scared to death that something was going to happen to him."

After hopping the curb and barely missing these bricks she said she was able to get her Toyota Sienna stopped after throwing it in park.

She said, "I was scared I was going to go down this cliff. It just drops down."

Donahue said she got the kids out of the van and had it towed to a local Toyota dealership. Her car was not on the recall list and she was told because it was an accelerator issue corporate had to get involved so we called corporate.

Mike Walker a Regional Toyota spokesman said, "Does she have a legitimate claim? I'm sure to her she does but they've not been able to find any scientific proof on computer examination or in trying to replicate what happen.

Now Donahue has to wait for a second Toyota representative to come check it out and that could take up to 30 days. Donahue said she just wants it fixed and if its not, she said she won't take it back.

We asked Toyota here and corporate headquarters if they've noticed an increase in non-recalled vehicles coming in and they told us no more than normal.
