TUCSON - Minor weather worries for a major cycling event in southern Arizona.
Mother Nature's main influence on today's El Tour de Tucson will be the wind. By the start of the main race, winds should be light out of the south-southeast at 5-10 MPH. Winds should be strongest around the noon hour, with gusts up to 20 MPH out of the south-southwest. For cyclists on the western flank of the route, this will add another challenge.
The good news? As the afternoon goes on, winds begin to subside. By the end of El Tour, expect 10-15 MPH winds out of the south-southwest.
All in all, it should be a pleasant day. Temps by 7 AM should be in the low 50's, with daytime highs in the low 70's, under partly cloudy skies.
Jeff will have your complete weekend forecast & a sneak peek at Thanksgiving weather tonight on News 4 Tucson at 5:30 and 10.
