TUCSON - A man who police say robbed a bank on Tucson's north side last week was identified with the help of an 88-CRIME tip and arrested at a local hotel yesterday.
Joseph Jesus Sanchez, 30, was taken into custody without incident by U.S. Marshal's officers on October 10. He is the suspect in the robbery of a Wells Fargo bank inside the Basha's store at 3275 N. Swan Road, according to a news release from Tucson Police.
Detectives received an 88-CRIME tip after releasing surveillance photos of the robbery to the media, the release states. The suspect robbed the bank on October 4 by presenting a note to the teller, with a holstered handgun clearly visible.
Sanchez was booked into Pima County Jail on one count of Armed Robbery.
