Time lapse shows hours of the Monument Fire in seconds

SIERRA VISTA - The Monument Fire has grown to 5,200 acres and is 10 percent contained by a crew of about 400 people, as of the latest update from incident commanders.

Daniel Ellisworth has posted several videos to YouTube showing yesterday's activity near the Monument Fire in just 21 seconds. Ellisworth says in the video description that the time lapse was taken from the late afternoon to the evening.

The dramatic video shows plumes of smoke coming from the area affected by the Monument Fire, then the visible glow of spots were the fire is active once the sun sets.
